French Toast Casserole

Directions

Spray a 9x13 dish with nonstick spray. In a small sauce pan, on medium heat, melt the water and brown sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour the brown sugar syrup on the bottom of the 9x13 dish.

In a single layer, lay all the slices of bread on the bottom of the 9x13 pan.

In a separate bowl, mix together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until well combine. Pour egg mixture evenly over the bread. Cover the casserole and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake casserole for 45 minutes or until nice and gold brown on the top.

Combine the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over casserole while it is still hot. Let rest for about 10 minutes and enjoy with some maple syrup!
